Asoma Photo Terms of Use (End User Licence Agreement)
Last updated: 2026-09-26
By downloading, installing or using the Asoma Photo iOS app (“the App”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App and delete it from your device.
These terms supplement Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where the two conflict, whichever is more favourable to you applies. Apple’s standard EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
1. Licence
Subject to these terms, the developer grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App (except where law expressly permits), rent, lend, resell or sublicense it, or remove any proprietary notices.
2. Your content
Your photos and everything you type stay yours. The developer acquires no rights to them and has no way to access them — the App has no server and all data stays on your device (see the Privacy Policy).
You are responsible for having the rights to the photos you import, and for any notice or consent obligations your jurisdiction imposes regarding people recognised in them. (Face recognition runs entirely on your device and involves no disclosure to anyone, but local law may still apply.)
3. Data and backups
The App’s data lives in the device sandbox, and the App does no cloud sync of its own. The data is included in the device’s iCloud Backup or computer backups (see §5 of the Privacy Policy). Losing or damaging the device without a backup, deleting the App, or deleting a Day Album loses the corresponding data in the App (thumbnails, analysis, names, relationships, notes). Originals in your Photos library are unaffected. Please keep your own device backups.
4. Accuracy of automatic analysis
The App decides automatically who is the same person, which shots are worth keeping, whether a shot is out of focus, and so on. These come from statistical models and will sometimes be wrong. They are suggestions, not findings of fact, and you can correct any of them at any time.
5. Purchases (if offered)
If the App offers in-app purchases, they are transacted by Apple; billing, refunds and subscription management are governed by Apple’s terms and App Store policies. The developer never sees your payment details.
6. Disclaimer and liability
The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential damages (including data loss), and total liability will not exceed what you paid for the App.
7. Termination
You may terminate this licence at any time by deleting the App. It terminates automatically if you breach these terms.
8. Changes
Updates change the date at the top of this page. Continued use means acceptance.
